About Us TLC Australian Shepherds was started in 1997 with the purchase of our first Aussie, Kit (AKC, ASCA, Int. CH. Knight Rider of Tri-Smith CGC). Kit was 16 months old and the most beautiful dog we had ever seen. Kit and Gretchen quickly bonded and started their show career in 4-H. Two years after Kit came to live with us we purchased Jazzy (AKC, ASCA CH. Merribrook’s Time To Dance CD CGC) and Memo (AKC, ASCA CH. Tri-Smith’s Takin’ Notes CD CGC). From day one Jazzy and I (Katherine) were inseparable, while Memo proved that she was a natural born show dog. Together these dogs have not only taught us what the true qualities of the Australian Shepherd are, but they have also given my sister and I all of their love and devotion. TLC Golden Retrievers was started in 2000 when Wink (CH. Teran’s In The Public Eye GCG) and Magenta (Teran’s Pick Up The Clue Phone) came to Oregon all the way from Virginia. Two years later Wink finished his AKC championship with 16-year-old Katherine at the end of the lead. Wink proved that he was good enough to compete with the best of the best and come out a winner. Wink has taken me to new heights as a handler and has taught me how to have fun while competing. Wink and Magenta are a constant source of joy to our family and we will be forever thankful to these two wonderful dogs. Together the Australian Shepherds and the
Golden Retrievers have brought a balance to our home. The Australian
Shepherds have taught us loyalty and the value of hard work while
the Golden Retrievers have brought fun loving joy into our lives.
